First Keep: Dramatis Vulpinae

Faladron: Firmane's best friend, a silver fox (silver fox shown at right). He is also a noble, the son of Falant. He's about eighteen.

Falant: A noble and Councilor, he is the Queen's main advisor and best friend. He is also Faladron's father.

Faon: The Councilor who represents the interests of the common people. He is the Queen's Consort and Firmane's stepfather.

Fargentor (mentioned only): Councilor of Political Matters. He is returning from the negotiations with the Common Army that were an attempt to avoid a war.

Farig: Councilor of War; he is also Clawmaster of the Keep, meaning he is responsible for all the weapons training and army affairs.

Felair: A soldier guarding the side entrance to the castle.

Finna: A Councilor; the Mage of First Keep.

Firmane: The Crown Prince, oldest of Queen Firona's three sons. As she had no daughter, Firmane will inherit the throne upon her death. He's eighteen and a Councilor, though he doesn't have a vote on Council affairs. He is a cross fox, with dark brownish fur on his muzzle and in a mane down his back and across his shoulders. It goes all the way up his tail, in fact; elsewhere he is normal red fox coloration.

Firona: The Queen of First Keep. Firmane, Firstil, and Firshye's mother.

Firshye: Firona's youngest son; Firmane's youngest brother. He's about eight years old.

Firstil (mentioned only): The middle son of Firona's three children. He's about twelve, and doesn't get along well with either Firshye or Firmane.

Forra: A servant vixen with one white sock.

Fria: A barmaid, acquaintance of Firmane's.
