July 31, 1999 Joan and Kastle came out to visit. Independently, live from Akron, Ohio, Carol came out too!

Anyway, we went to visit with wolves. First the pack, but I only had my 'real' camera. The Nikon one. So, no pictures for this page.

Then we went over to Eastlake and visited with Karin. Karin, as usual, was really glad to say hi, eat her pills and get betadyned and petted a lot. Karin had just been driven from the Pack two weeks previously and was being treated for her injuries.
Joan gets an ear kiss. Those can tickle :-)
Kastle gives Karin a scritch. After she healed, Karin was once again an alpha female, but this time with Apollo and Alyeska for her pack, but that's another story...
Then we visited with Deneb. Deneb is one of our lone females. She was born at Wolf Park, donated to the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, NJ in April 1989 when she was about a year old. She went with her sister, Hera and cousins, Tybor and Zaphod. Hera was not a very nice alpha female and later drove Deneb from the pack so Deneb came back to the park to live. Unfortunatly, Deneb has decided that wolves do not make good companions and even theratens male wolves. Fortunatly she really enjoys her human friends.
And then of course Orca kisses. Orca likes to kiss visitors. Orca is healing well since his back injury he sustained in November 1997.
